Nyc Restaurant Week: Immigration

Restaurantweek Dept: In Manhattan, street food has moved way beyond greasy hot dogs and giant pretzels. Stop by the NYC Restaurant Week Truck in Midtown 50th Street and Broadway or the Flatiron district 18th Street and Fifth Avenue and you’ll have a choice of gourmet summer soups to go, made by the chefs of Megu, Rocking Horse Cafe, db Bistro Moderne or SD26. Brooklyn-based Hot Bread Kitchen – a non-profit bakery that enhances professional opportunities for immigrant women – provides fresh bread that’s perfect for dunking. The truck operates from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., July 12 to 16. Soups are $6 each and a dollar from every serving goes to Hot Bread Kitchen. If you’re curious to know what’s on offer where, check the truck’s daily schedule and menu online. www.nycgo.com/restaurantweek and www.twitter.com/nycgo, according to Globe And Mail. YOU'LL WANT A LONGER LAYOVER GOOD SOUP, GREAT CAUSE Lufthansa's Jet Friends lounge in Frankfurt. As reported in the news.
