Trade Minister Peter Bjornson Dept: This province has a population of 1,254,700, Statistics Canada said on Tuesday, according to Winnipeg Free Press. From October 2010 to October 2011, the province experienced a near-record gain of 15,700 people, putting it above the national average for the third year in a row. It's the second-highest level since such record-keeping began in 1971 and mANITOBA continues its population growth spurt as new statistics reveal more people are calling the province home than ever before. "I think growth is a great problem to have," said Entrepreneurship, Training and Trade Minister Peter Bjornson. "We've had a very good run in the last few years and lots of opportunity -- it's our turn."
