hadhad father: The community has rallied around the Syrian family to support their business as they continue their chocolate-making legacy, according to The Chronicle Herald. Before the shed, there was a factory a large one in Damascus that employed 30 people. Last spring, Tareq Hadhad and his family opened Peace by Chocolate in the shed behind their home on Bay Street. Hadhad father, Assam, ran it successfully for more than 20 years until it was destroyed by a bomb. Things changed for the Hadhad family when they were invited to move to Canada and became Canadian citizens.
